Winter Where I Live
Well, as you will see, winter is here even before it officially starts. On the week end, before the rains made things a bit of a mess, I had an opportunity to walk around one of our local parks. Earlier this summer, this was the same sight of our Rib n'Beer fest and our Multi-Cultural Event. Back then, crowds of people covered this particular area, basking in the blue skies and sunshine. As you will see, it is now covered mostly by snow but the sun was still shining. Fortunately, yes, I said fortunately, more snow came along to "clean" things up a bit. Consider it a little bit of a Winter Maintenance Program in preparation for the visit of St. Nick himself. It just kinda makes it easier for him to land his sleigh. Sandy beaches kinda dulls out the runners....if you know what I mean! I took the night pics last evening as the snow fell, silently blanketing the neighbourhood. However, the festive lights put quite a sparkle on the area. So, to my friends Down Under and to those whose back yards resemble more sand dune than snow hill, here is the pleasantry that I get to enjoy at this time of the year. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Enjoy!!!

Lovely slideshow. The snow falling at night sure makes for wonderful photos. As much as I love my summer, I'm quite glad that we get our four distinct seasons here. Thanks for showing some of the best of this one.
Jealous,jealous,jealous!
One day I will see it for myself. :D
For now, I will enjoy your beautiful images. x
Excellent slideshow. I like to look at the snow from afar! But I hate it otherwise - of course Amy can't wait for it to snow (as it's doing right now) so that she can build a snowman.
CJ xx
Bogey dear friend, you have been making me think of your mother over the last few days.
I see that you love her very much.
Love Renee xoxo
I am sure that your mother is very proud of the son that she has with the soul of a poet.
xoxox
Oh Bogey! my heart skipped a beat when I saw that you had snow photos up. :) :) :)
Thank you for the wonderful slide show, I am indeed one of those with sand and palm trees instead of snow and pines, but now i feel a little bit what it would be like to live with snow! this is my favorite Christmas post.
Have fun and enjoy!
So very nice! It looks much like where I live but pretty nonetheless. We have not been able to go out and enjoy our snow because of how cold it's been but we hear it's suppose to warm up soon so that we can enjoy some snow fun. We can hardly wait! :)
LOVE the slide show and the song choice! :-D I also wouldn't want it any other way. ;-D I know how many Indo friends of mine who would do anything just to be able to touch snow and play with snow he he he...
This is a great slide show. So many pictures, lots to oooh and aaah at, and I have looked at the pictures several times. You get to look at all this just on one walk?? Lucky you. You know I am sending you the very best wishes for a wonderful holiday season.
Thank you dear friend.
xoxo
I loved the slide show. We are supposed to get plenty of snow tomorrow and I must admit that I feel a bit like an excited kid.
Thanks for sharing! :)
Your very welcome Hilary. I know you aren't too far away and so can appreciate your winter surroundings as well.
Natalie, I think it is fair to say that you will only be jealous of it until you have shovel it and drive in it! Don't say I didn't warn you!
Hello CJ, winter snowfalls are supposed to be exclusively for children, but aren't we all children in some little way.
Hello Renee and thank you so much for your comments. Sadly, my mother passed away in 2001 but the few Christmas memories I have of her have remained with me to this day. In that sense, she will always be with me in spirit.
Lori Ann you have to know that these pics were party because of your request. Hopefully, as the season moves on, I will be able to provide you with more. Hope you enjoyed them.
Lori, I know you are probably buried in the stuff just as we are. Ya just gotta love it though when it blankets everything so softly, even for a little while. Hope you have fun in it along with some Hot Chocolate and marshmallows.
Amel, maybe you should invite some of your relations to visit you. Maybe they will think twice about it.
Techno Babe, yes I do get to see a lot in just one walk. The best way is to go out into while it is snowing for full affect. Wishing you all the best of the Season as well. Enjoy and have fun!
Well James, I hope you do get to enjoy the experience. Just make sure you've got some good boots, not to mention winter tires! I'm also looking forward to more pics of your trip and the winter in your new surroundings.
Ah, the problem is the expensive plane tickets. They do want to visit me, buttttt...and the rupiah rate is very low compared to Euro, so...plus when they come here in winter or spring they need to buy some winter clothes - they're so expensive in Indo he he...
