And Introducing....

I just want to take this opportunity to introduce you to a recent acquisition. This little guy is a quite a ham who loves attention. Shy at first, he has recently come out of his shell and is coming into full voice. Although he spends a fair amount of time alone, he isn't shy of letting me know he is there when I get home. He goes ballistic when he hears the neighbourhood birdies singing in the trees. Then runs around the bottom of the cage trying to find them. Anyways, without further ado, Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to Mr. Bartholomew Beaks. Mr. Beaks come and meet the nice folks. (Enters stage right chirping wildly.)

Of course, if I'm wrong about the sex, then her name is Mrs. Beatrice Beaks with my full apologies.

Maybe he/she is lonely and wants to go and play?
Maybe a play mate for her/him?
Dunno, tell me to shut up if you like.xx♥

Have a great weekend.

Too cute Bogey. Trouble with bird buddies is then they don't talk to you and they get really loud.

And twice as many poos in the water...why do they do that?? Erk

If you you want him to talk to you then the mirror needs to go too, he will spend all his time smooching it.

It is a budgie isn't it/he/she?

Ah, everybodies an expert :)

Thanks all for welcoming Mr. Beaks to the fold. And yes, he is a male. I did some research on how to determine the sex. The beak tells the story. Interesting.

And as for getting a playmate for Mr. Beaks, I thought about that when I bought him. The guy in the store voiced the same issue Michelle said. If you want him to connect with you, then he has to stay as a single. We'll see. I feel bad for the little dude. I read up on the relationship between the males and females of this species. You should read it for yourself because I laughed my ass off when I read it and wouldn't dare reprint it here for fear of the backlash.

Two boys get along okay though:) Mine love each other, which is lucky because they get ignored by everyone else around here :)

I'm still going to look into it Michelle but I'm going to wait. I'm getting ready to do some painting and don't want the paint fumes to affect Mr. Beaks let alone a newby. Will update.
